New Publix opens in Riverland!

The new Publix opened today, and it felt like all of Tradition and Riverland turned out to celebrate. As you step inside, friendly staff greet you (some of them are from Tradition and St. Lucie West stores). But the real highlight?

The layout

This location feels more spacious than the others. Each section is cozy yet distinct. In produce, clever L-shaped shelving wraps you into a bright, enclosed nook apart from the main aisles.

The deli and hot-food area centers around a circular counter, allowing you to roll your cart around and view every option.

Upstairs, a beautiful cafeteria-style dining hall invites you to sit down and enjoy your purchases.

The walkability and alt transportation bonus

My favorite feature, both in the store and the plaza, is the easy access for alternative transportation. Riverland residents can roll right in on golf carts or e-bikes via the nearby trails.

My only downside

This Publix is missing some of the signature touches from other new Publix designs farther south, like Chipotle-style food lines and on-tap wine and beer.

On the plus side, you'll find delicious Asian bowls—orange chicken included. And today, we had enough samples to keep us fed (we even skipped lunch).
